Nixon and Pattison will be on the panel, that's going to be brilliant entertainment.

It surely will not end at 8:30pm, given the likely volume of questions. I can envisage it going for an hour, then a break, then another hour or until the final question has been answered (whichever occurs first).

It will be broadcast 'live' on YouTube. Presumably it will subsequently be available to view for an indefinite period of time on YouTube and the club's website, as has been the case for several years.

The panel will consist of Billy Atkinson [CUOSC], Nigel Clibbens, Suzanne Kidd, John Nixon and Steven Pattison.

Suzanne excluded, it is hard to imagine you could get so many bull****ters in a room at the same time.

Not much chance of anything meaningful emerging.

It could be a very long night.

It will be the very pinnacle of entertainment.

Pattison will be easily provoked into verbal indiscretions.

Nixon and Pattison are our very own version of Boris Johnson and Nadine Dorries.

We are allowed to ask anything. So I intend to ask Steven Pattison to explain Einstein's Theory Of Relativity, Quantum Physics and String Theory, the latter of those puzzles some of the most eminent physicists.

I am glad that Steven Pattison is making his comeback on the panel. It raises the intellectual level of the panel to stratospheric heights.

It does seem to be a somewhat restricted event in comparison to the last few years.

1)There is a specific end time of 8:30pm, making the event of duration 90 minutes with no commitment
to go on until every question has been answered.
2)There are only 5 panellists instead of 6. DH is gone and one of the 2 scruffy oiks is dropped, replaced
by Steven Pattison. But it could still have been a panel of 6 with both of the scruffy oiks.
3)There is no facility for anyone outside the room to ask a question. Previously folk were encouraged to
submit questions in advance by email to a CUSG email address. The moderators of the two unofficial
message boards also gathered questions to be sent there.
4)I am not certain that it is actually necessary to restrict the audience of the event to 100. To be fair
the club has scrupulously adhered to all Covid rules and laws. As an example of the limit of 100 being
a reasonable limit you can see that BBC1's Question Time now has an audience limit of substantially less
than the capacity of each of the venues that it comes from.
5)During the time when BBCRC was running the event there was the facility to send in questions during the event
by email, twitter or 'live' telephone call.

After the update the maximum attendance figure is still shown as 100. Nigel Clibbins says that the actual attendance limit for the event is now the capacity of the room. Only those attending the event will be able to ask questions.
