I wasn’t sure if Notts would do it or not as they always try and do everything ethically correct but some times in football u have to be a bit cute with stuff.
I see the points being made. Unfortunately, I can't attend due to my location, but in the past have relished the atmosphere in previous games when there were 4,000+ away fans.

The club isn't losing revenue. The profits are split evenly between all 6 playoff teams. If we gave Grimsby an extra 2,000 tickets say. On average they sell at £15 (taking into account some will be concession prices), that is £30,000. Take away the extra stewarding costs, the cost it takes to close County road as it has to close with over 2,500 in that stand, you're probably looking at £15,000 at most. Divide that by 6 and we get a sum total of £2,500 and we loosen our home advantage. It's just not worth it

Not sure about the NL, but in the EFL if you need extra police/stewarding for a play off match you claim that rather than pay it yourself and it comes out of the money distributed throughout the league.

Even so, you're losing your home advantage for £5,000. It's just not worth it
