Pitch invasions

There’s been one after every play off semi I’ve seen and also at Everton last night and there’ve been lots of incidents as a result including Billy Sharp being head butted.
I though setting foot on the pitch led to long term bans or is it different when everyone does it?

It's not different, the problem is safety in numbers - really you can't charge or ID everyone.

However, anybody grabbed on the pitch can be charged.

The bloke that headbutted BIlly Sharpe has been jailed for 24 weeks.

He was saying he and his partner wouldn't be able to pay the mortgage if he was jailed...maybe he should have considered that before acting like he did. Agreed. Every action has a reason and every action has a consequence. How would he feel if the attack had been on his partner or himself?

I'll warrant he would have been full of indignity being a victim.

Aye, agreed, that's kinda what I was getting at. Wouldn't occur to most folk...well, in fact, it didn't on that occasion.
