The benefits of The Academy have always been a mystery to me.

Has it produced anything meaningful, with the exception of McNeil?

Was it Saint Sean who did not want to blood them -giving them the experience of watching from the sidelines only?

Is there anyone who could move up to the First Team at Championship level?

Irrespective of raising the necessary finance, would a goalkeeper of Pope’s calibre really want to be playing in the Championship?

    Even in the short term
    - sell top goal scorer in a relegation battle
    - No funds available in January to give us any chance of strengthening
    - replaced top goal scorer with a half price striker - who scored 2 goals in 4 months.
    - Sacked the most experienced stable manager Burnley has ever had, with a handful of winnable games left

    Vs Leeds
who have tried to play fantastic football, who have world class players as in Raphina, England internationals Phillps, Bamford... just look up their squad compared to ours there is a world of difference.

I think in hindsight it was our time, multiple poor short term decisions leveraged against us.. compounded with the last 5 years of poor signings (Gibson, Stevens, Vydra) then huge lack of investment, lack of youth coming though despite investment into top tire development.

Sad it has all come to a end, It really feels like the end. With no manager, 9 players out of contract, 65mil to owe, plus 12mil for the loan, at least 4 top players to go Pope, Tarks, Cornet, Mcneil.. maybe more#
I think we need to hang tight and be strong, next season maybe a rocky ride.

It is fair to say that when Garlick held the purse strings there was little to no investment in our first team.

I think Pace made two mistakes the first was to award Dyche a long term contract and secondly he did not sack Dyche earlier. In fairness to Pace he did try to bring in some players with different styles of place, but rather than playing to their strengths, they had to conform to Dyche ball.

When Jackson took over we started to play football and looked likely to avoid relegation, but the last three games we reverted to hoof ball and it is that I have difficulty understanding why.

Still there is no point in crying now, we need to appoint a new manager as soon as possible, hopefully this week and then sort out who stays and who goes.

Yes I will still be a Claret next year just hoping we find a good balance and start playing football.

I’m not it’s a good thing to have - there will
Always be one or two who get through - let’s be honest the percentage of players who make it at top level is tiny - for everyone not just us.

Has it produced anything meaningful, with the exception of McNeil? We don’t know because they never get a chance to show if they have the qualities to help our team. No

Was it Saint Sean who did not want to blood them -giving them the experience of watching from the sidelines only? Have to ask Dyche that one.
Judging by the the signing of Dale Stephen’s ( a Dyche signing I’d say if they’re worse than him someone needs to be answering questions on that. Even from a Dyche perspective I don’t understand that he never used them as they’ll be fit enthusiastic and dyches number one quality to be able to run and run.

Is there anyone who could move up to the First Team at Championship level? No. As above we don’t know do we ? As they don’t get chances not even 5-10 minutes - there are goal scorers among them and we need goal scorers.( well I thought we did. ).

Irrespective of raising the necessary finance, would a goalkeeper of Pope’s calibre really want to be playing in the Championship?

He can’t stay for two reasons one is he’s currently the best English goalkeeper and to stop his chances of progressing that wont happen with Burnley.

Secondly reality says we need to cash in and circumstances are now forcing that really hence he has to look elsewhere.

    No.

"We needed a clean sweep a new brush new players and a new manager imo anyway - when the anger has diminished from not being in The premiership anymore we’ll all recognise that and get behind our great club - make no mistake we are a great club - we’ll come again and I think the yanks might surprise a few - if they get the right manager and nucleus of players we could be a force again - the building process has to start NOW and the manger appointment is critical."

Your optimism is admirable Army, but I fear it is misplaced. Have you actually read the Annual Report published a couple weeks ago ?

To be fair to Pace BT, he's told us exactly what we're facing in the Annual Report, a reduction in turnover and a loan repayment, which will be funded by player sales, and if it turns out the initial fire sale of players hasn't proved sufficient cash, more players will be sold.

"In the event of relegation, the group will incur a significant reduction in turnover as full Premier League
broadcasting revenue is replaced with parachute payments. The group will be required to take steps to
reduce costs and borrowings to a level which are more sustainable for a Championship club. . In this scenario the group has forecast a significant reduction in wages and salaries, which will be largely achieved by contractual means existing in player and employee
contracts. The group has also forecast that there will be a net inflow of cash arising from player trading, as
is common for many clubs relegated from the Premier League. In the event that the group's financial
performance is less than that modelled, in a relegation scenario, the directors are satisfied that further cash
can be generated, including by further player trading, if this was absolutely necessary."

"Included within other loans is an amount of £65,000,000 which arose following transactions linked to the
acquisition of the group during the year. The capital element of the loan is due for repayment by the company in December 2025, with interest only
payments being required up to that point, providing the club remains in the Premier League. In the event of
the club's relegation from the Premier League, the repayment schedule for the capital element of the loan
is brought forward, with a significant proportion falling due for repayment shortly after the end of the football
season in which the relegation event takes place."

We can bury your heads in the sand and ignore it if we like, but we can't say we haven't been told.

The problem with that Sinkov is that everybody else also now knows we are skint and therefore it will be another revert to type by selling off our prized assets for well under their true value.Pope should be worth £35-40m but i bet we sell him for around £20m.Then Cornet and Mcneil for £30m tops for the pair.Brownhill and Taylor £15-20 for the pair.Tarks going on a free.Mee £5m.Might just get back the £65m with those sales and then who is left?
No manager will want to come at that stage because they will also know we are skint and have sold the cream. We will be lucky to stay up in the Championship next season.
That said if we had stayed up it would only have been delaying the inevitable.Apart from Gawthorpe has the club really benefitted from 6 seasons in the PL.We know Garlick has but has the club?

Mee is out of contract CiB and can leave on a free.
