Solar panels can be good but some feel they look ugly and if you sell would the new owners want them. A lot of elderly people with single pane windows buy secondary glazing because it’s cheaper than having a new double glazing window for example. Secondary glazing is fine if you are happy to die in the property but if you sold up the new owners most likely would gut the property and rip out the secondary glazing as they are deemed to be for the elderly and not modern.

Same with electric cars!! If you purchase an electric car you have to evaluate the extra cost you are paying on a petrol car same model or equivalent. For me the difference between an electric car and a petrol car was quite steep - in that if you kept the car for three years you still wouldn’t spend the equivalent in petrol than the extra cost in the electric car compared to the petrol car. It’s a con as you think you are saving on petrol but not always correct.

If you care about the environment then fair enough but really how many give a f uck when the priority should be caring for those who can’t afford to eat or heat!

My mrs is the same Lloyd. My daughter has just done up a lovely place and best advice from me was location location and location and investing with the thought of when you sell. If you are there for the very long run though it does not matter if you have ropes to swing from the chandeliers 😂
