    Upside Down Support

The worse we get, the more support we have. This was our lowest ever finish (based on losing the playoff quarter final) and yet our average attendance is only slightly lower than when we were in the top flight! It’s much higher than when we were in league one!

The way this is going, we will need to increase capacity If we get relegated again

It dropped, following the last relegation, from 7,357 to 5,210 in 2019/20.

    Last season was BCD.

This season the average is back up to 6,800 but still 1.1k below the Hardy play off season.

I'd like to see somebody number crunch the figures across football because I suspect the post lockdown effect has had quite a lot to do with the increase. We'd need a percentage increase for all of football and compare that increase at Notts.

Will be interesting to see what the gate figures are next season.

There is the lockdown effect but let's put last night and the subsequent two play-off disappointments to one side we win more games at this level and this season have scored more goals than in recent years.

In the three seasons at this level we have won 36 out of 63 games at Meadow Lane and have only lost 11 from 63 games. 7 of those 11 defeats came last season (lockdown) and only 2 defeats in both season one and three. So Meadow Lane is essentially a fortress when fans are there.

Ultimately regardless at the level you play at a win is a win and a goal is a goal. It's the same feeling. So with Notts winning at home regularly, scoring goals and playing football it's managed to bring people in.

Let's not muck about the attendances at Meadow Lane have been impressive all season, even if post lockdown had a positive impact across the divisions.

M_M is bang on, wins lots at home (we have) , score lots (tick) and play football combine them all and people will pay to watch.

Many fans would prefer to see a team competing near or at the top of the table than struggling at the bottom, no matter what league it's in.
