Brexit has pushed European immigration down since 2016, and I don't recall ever seeing a figure of 1m being thrown about. And I would argue we share many values with our fellow Europeans, which is why Brexit is such a shame.

I don't know anyone, or have ever myself, been shamed for waiving the Union Jack. How many times have you been to London? Because I live here, it is very much an English city with rich culture from the many people from different backgrounds and heritage who live here. Our national dish is an Indian curry.

But flipping it back to you as you talk about 'common sense'. I have no idea why any sane person would consider it a good idea to have unfettered access to guns. I have my values and identity, they include keeping children safe at school. It includes feeling safe when I walk into a supermarket or down the street. I can't quite understand your logic, nor many millions of Americans who think more access to guns is the solution. as
I am American and live in the Chicago area. Those figures came from the UK government. You'll find they're correct. You elected Tories to push through #Brexit and secure your borders, but immigration increased, especially since COVID (while you were locked down, your borders were wide open). The BBC won't tell you that, any more than they will tell you about the 17,000 annual cases of child grooming that Sajid Javid found.

In the 2011 Census London had 45% native English. The Tories are delaying publishing the results of the 2021 Census as long as possible because they will be devastating. London and Birmingham will have large non-English majorities and are heading for 4/5 non-English populations in time for the 2031 Census, should there be one. As your country changes, so go your rights. Free speech is less important than not offending your guests and benefactors. Your right to defend yourselves must go because gangs of feral youth commit crimes in cities which are no longer yours. When the mobs came to burn down your homes in 2011, the police turned tail and ran.

I know none of this makes sense to you. We are sitting on opposite sides of a paradigm shift.

You are absolutely correct, none of it does make sense. Which is why I'd really like to have sources for this information. News information from credible sources please.

    I can't find anything relating to the 1m figure, but I did find this on the Govt ONS website;
Based on our current best assessment of available sources, net migration was estimated to be in the region of 239,000 in the year ending June 2021; there is a degree of uncertainty around today’s figures, but this represents a small decrease from the year ending June 2020 (260,000).

I think you're talking about 45% being white British? Ironically the BBC did tell me that...
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-20680565
And perhaps we differ in opinion on this, but you don't have to be white only to be British. We have plenty of black, Asian and mixed race athletes who represent us internationally. London is the most diverse city in terms of culture. As mentioned, I live here perfectly safely and well.

Also the figures for child grooming are out there. But I don't see how this is any different from any other country? Unicef think in the USA the figure is between 100k-300k children are groomed. And if you're trying to conflate child grooming with immigration, then a home office report here has said the most likely child grooming abusers are white men aged under 30.

Not sure how long you think it takes to release a census, but it took 18 months to release the 2011 census. The ONS have announced that the 2021 census first results will be released on the 28th June 2022, so actually quicker than the last one we had.

No one burned down my home in 2011. But I saw quite a determined backlash against those people within my community and then by law enforcement.

But, even if everything you say is correct - despite it seeming to be complete garbage. Then what is your solution? If your solution is to shut the borders and take up arms, then I think I'd probably leave the UK. No offence to your home city and country, but I don't want to be like this..

So yes, we have our problems in this country but I'm grateful that I've never seen a gun, and that I feel safe when my children go to school.

The Daily Telegraph reported that 1 million number. It's based on about 950k visas that the Home Office issued, plus another 60,000 channel crossers (2/3 allowed to stay).

BTW net migrations is immigrants minus outmigrants. In fact, you lost EU migrants and gained non-EU ones. Same sources.

I love going to the USA but can’t get over the fact you can be 15 in some States to drive. I am 58 and was asked multiple times to show ID to buy a bottle of wine for f uck sake. You can buy a machine gun at 18 which is a complete joke! No wonder kids are massacred in schools by some weirdos!

Surely an amendment which was written in the prehistoric ages should be scrapped!! Is sleepy Joe not got the balls to sort this or does he not want to lose support?

Some US states have bizarre laws on alcohol, some years ago I went into a store with a mate to buy two six packs of beer each, we were only allowed to buy one each. We took the beers to our car, literally outside the door of the store, went back inside and bought two more!

There are states where you can buy in a supermarket but not a convenience store, or a liquor store but not a supermarket, or not on Sundays (those laws might be gone). There are dry counties where you cannot buy at all. Here in Illinois I can buy a cartridge of cannabis oil. If I drive it 15 miles east to Indiana, might face a felony charge. We are Germany before Bismarck.

That reminds me. Must pop down the road to buy another belt of ammunition. You can never have enough. Or guns. Must get another one to go with the new home defence flamethrower. It'll look really good with the new sandbags and spiked pit in the back garden. Fix bayonets 😊 !

Well if its based on Visa's then this is from the gov website..

There were 1,311,731 visas granted in 2021, 59% less than 2019 as a result of the global pandemic, but 36% higher than 2020. Of the visas granted in the latest 12 months, 33% were for study, 31% were to visit, 18% were to work, 3% were for family, and 14% for other reasons

Yes you're right about net migrations, but do you only count the incomings and not the outgoings? Seems a bit bizarre to me you are thinking that way.

Anyway, you didn't answer my question. What is the solution? Do we all take up arms and go to the coast?
