It is nice in Burnley ---and In Ashington ------however, it is much, much nicer in Nice. C'est tres bon ---as opposed to being 'canny'

One thing I discovered, much to my disappointment, whilst living in France, all this talk of glamorous French women, it's a bit of a myth, there are as many dogs per square mile in France as there are in England, even in Paris.

It was for me too, very disappointing. As was the eating out, far more decent restaurants in Lancashire than there were in the Charente-Maritime where we lived. Still prefer Nice to Burnley though.

I agree with the eating out. French food is overpriced and overcooked and somewhat mediocre. perhaps it's better elsewhere, I lived just to the east of sinkov's Dept.

Crikey, that certainly explodes the myth.

That's from my experience in and around the Haute Vienne, there may be some gastronomique paradises elsewhere en france.

Best meal I ever had was in a restaurant in Lyon, I was having a business luncheon with a female representative of a company we were working with in Paris. Three courses par excellence and the "afters" were quite lovely too!
