The result meant absolutely zilch, so just great to be amongst the atmosphere. Just over 40 thousand I think they said was the crowd size...and naturally all the noise was from the Leeds fans! ☺
As for the game, we competed quite well. Has as much of the play as Villa. Thought the defence was quite solid...and Koch surprisingly looked as good as any. Midfield okay...but up front is a real issue. He needs to definitely spend the Raphina money and buy a decent striker. We simply wont be able to create enough chances to win games. And if they are going to keep Rodrigo, then someone needs to explain the offside rule to him! Unbelievable how poor his vision and judgement was when making runs when he came on 2nd half. 🤐

Sounds like you had a fun day. Watched some of the highlights and we looked decent with the ball (but only highlights) and James looks better not having to play up top.

The tackle on Archie Gray looked like a bad one. How did Lief Davis go from where you were sat?

Davis looked "reasonably" competent, and they gave him plenty of match time. Probably needs to work on his distribution more, as he gave some away. Judgement meant he was 2nd to the ball on the odd occasion also. But he didnt appear overawed at all. Better frontmen against him will be the tester though.

Watched the highlights on youtube and we looked decent but we desperately need a striker - that challenge by McGinn was disgusting he could have broke the lads foot dirty tw@t.

He went off on a stretcher after quite a delay, so may well have done some serious damage. Hopefully not. And when McGinn came to the sideline later to talk to Gerard, Marsch looked like he was giving him a serve about it too!

Just read the reviews and this is what I like to read - Meslier no less, he will only get better, still young for a keeper

'Wow. The Frenchman was incredible. Stopping Philippe Coutinho’s penalty with a strong hand in the air, he got up to stop a certain goal from the rebound. Moments later, another one-handed save to deny Ollie Watkins one on one.'

Obviously you missed Gray taking out Emiliano Buendia minutes before McGinns carbon copy challenge on Gray ?

Both tackles were over zealous/needless it was a friendly which in the second period seemed to have escaped both sides

Except Gray got 100% ball where as that dirty bassad rolled his ankle, knew exactly what he was doing.

It was as a dirty play especially for a friendly.

Hope we remember this for the regular season
