Still no mention on the Smudge contract.I really do hope the chairman does do, what he said and we give much better support to this manager, who if not, will be poached by another club with ambition.

I mainly agree with you but the Chairman may say that he does have ambition......the ambition to keep the club financially sustainable and secure. As the saying goes......''How do you become a millionaire? Start as a billionaire and buy a football club!''

Sensible to give the players a few more days to make what is a very important decision for them and the club. However, it's important not to let this develop into a "Warnock" situation. We need to give them a deadline and stick to it so that we can focus totally on replacing anyone who leaves.

I can't imagine any agent saying anything other than 'we are miles apart'! One thing to remember with Chio is that he is still untested in the Championship because he was injured the last time we were there and some of his final deliveries and decision making in the final 3rd left a lot to be desired in League 1.He may well play down his final year and go for nothing but we,as a club, have never had a huge windfall in our history as far as I can remember. I think Barnsley re developed their stadium on the John Stones sell on clause from Everton to Man City alone.Is that true BTW?

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about signing Smudge? After all, isn't he available on a 'free' and in effect a cheap option and that's what many are moaning about with respect to our other prospects/signings
