Bit harsh on Reynolds IMO. Good pro and captain that helped steady the ship, and led us to promotion. While Butcher’s tenure ended disappointingly, can’t knock his contribution to that as well.

Why the aggression to another Arab? We all know the rumours behind his drop from the team, so if true (very likely), not only was he getting paid to do feck all, he created friction/unrest in the team that could have totally derailed our end to the season (and doing the dirty on teammates/friends is surely not on (to most!)), so again why the aggression? Surely, freeing up that wage is best outcome for us? (you are totally missing the point of Whitfield’s post IMO?)

I'm not so sure that's what Whitefield was on about to be honest. He's well known for thinking Butcher is ****e.

Happy with that, as I said either a club in England ideally or wait till right at end of window if going to a rival was the best way for the club to deal, glad a rival not gaining from our loss

Wish him well overall, served us well, a derby double in the6-2, was excellent second half of last season either centre back or cm, a driving force at times, especially St Mirren away

However messed it up with his alleged actions so no other outcome from there than parting company

Those 3 players deserve a lot more respect for what they did for the club than what you're giving them with this post. Never forget that 2016-2019 was the darkest period in a generation of Dundee United. Those 3 players played a massive role in getting us back to where we are. Not always by what they did on the pitch, but mostly what they did in and around the club. Butcher's recent issue aside, he was a big player for us and gave his all. Had a genuine love for the club which you dont see often these days. Reynolds was one of most consistent players in the promotion season and scored the goal in our first win back in the Premiership. He then helped us consolidate in the league and was almost an ever present at the back beside Edwards. Connolly might have been in and out the team but anyone who has ever had a conversation or watched an interview with him will know how much he cared about getting this club back where we belong. And how proud he was to be a Dundee United player.

None them will ever breach the top 100 Dundee United players ever, but I really appreciate what they did for us.

I hope sometime in the future Callum Butcher will make his way into the Tannadice hall of fame, if for nothing else, his presence on the hallowed turf in both of our 6-2 thrashings of the funsters will stay with us Arabs for the remainder of our lives. Good luck shagger, hope you do well with Burton.

    Fantastic post!

Only thing i can add to it is a negative in it being time to get Connolly off the wage bill and say thanks for your contribution.

Sad to see the way its ended for Callum, and while we may never hear the real story, i hope whatever has gone before has now passed and he can kick on at Burton.
