I think our current situation was summed up really well by Alan Temple on the weekly DCT podcast. He is the journo assigned to United and I tend to agree with most of what he says, even if he can be overly positive at times.

He said we're likely playing the waiting game with our prime targets. So your Levitt, McGrath, Z.Clark, maybe even Shanks as examples. Players that would massively improve on what we have currently. That obviously makes it more frustrating for us as fans but the club are clearly looking to recruit players to take us to the next level, which all of them would do.

Once time runs out on those guys, we'll have that 2nd level of targets like maybe Doidge or Mullen who might not be everyones cup of tea, but could do a job. No doubt there will be multiple players across many levels that we've never heard of.

Aaron Hickey moving from Bologna to Brentford for £14m plus add-ons!

Hopefully Hearts don’t have any sell-on clause! That would be Shankland sorted!

They have a sizeable sell on clause unfortunately. Reading between the lines I'd say around 15% as they are due 'millions' from the sale.

Hope we have the same for Harry Souttar. Pity he got a bad injury just as he was in great form and getting noticed by bigger clubs.

15% we apparently have on Souttar, who had a £20M price tag before he got injured. He's due back shortly after the start of the season.

Jack Ross interview today says he is hopeful that we could maybe get 1 player in by next week.

If he's only planning to add quality then I don't mind waiting that bit longer to get it. Teams around us are signing a lot of players I've never heard of so I'm not too concerned about the new signing league table. Possibly Levitt could be announced soon according to reports
