Do you think Targett wants to sign or not? Does the club prefer Lodi and this has hurt his feelings?

I would think sign both if possible.

I think that the club is going for Lodi.

If they wanted to go for Targett, then they already know everything they need to about him, and we could have a deal in place awaiting the transfer window opening.

As for signing both of them… don’t think we can afford to bring in 2 LB’s in one window when there are a fair few other positions that need filling, and Targett wanted a loan out of Villa to not play second fiddle to Digne… he’s unlikely to want that elsewhere.

Makes sense but 15 mill isn't much for the quality player that he is but as you say why would he want to play second fiddle? My answer would be - put your big boy pants on and compete - we could be set up at LB if we did get both. Fullbacks are important commodities these days but I guess its up to EH.

Villa have Bassey coming in to join up with Gerard again, personally I would keep Mings and move Konsa on but again Sunday morning papers talking of Botman, I guess at this time both clubs will be associated with just about everyone, so we will all just have to wait and see. Good luck.

Bassey is a good player. Be interesting to see him in the PL. I also rate that lad Ryan Kent too.

Certainly happy we signed Targett, he was a solid player for us and definitely improved us as a team.

Lodi might well’ve been a red herring to give Vile a kick up the Jacksi over Targett. There were rumours that they might be difficult over his signing.

I think if Botman wants to come we’ll get him.

Chronicle reporting Lille have upped the asking price from 30 to 36.

Walk away… don’t entertain it or we’ll have the same issue with every deal.

Shame if the deal collapses but it'll come back to bite them on the arse because they'll have a very unhappy player on their hands if he can't move.

My suspicion is that he'll end up going to Milan for less than we've offered.
