Thread: The Cricket.

Sorry Mick but to put Brook as an opening batsman is a recipe for destroying a promising player, watched him most games over the last couple of seasons and yes he has a good technique but he’s one of those players a team needs at no 5, I think Bairstows brilliant innings saved him from being replaced by Brook for the 3rd test.
Liam Livingstone is another one trying to get into the middle order.

I still have major concerns about our top order, a tail that is way too long and no quality spinner. I have a horrible feeling these weaknesses will find us out all too often.

Having said all that am I enjoying the moment? You bet I am.
78-6 as I post at all but 5 an over. Yes there are new men at the top but they can't score the runs. The batting line up is still by and large the same that has failed continually and until we find at least 1 opener and a reliable No3 we will continue to fail all too frequently. This lot v the Aussies?

Surely Crawley can’t play the next Test?

Brook or Vince have to come in next time around.

As for Overton the latter, if he’s a Test bowler I’m Lai’s stool collector!

Horribly erratic bowling and he looked quite overweight to me for a supposed athlete.

Not at all impressed by him or much of our bowling abs Moeen still by far the better bowler than Leach.

So apart from the batting, the bowling and the dropped catches all is well. And you can add our use of DRS

Looks like it’s Overton the batsman (N.B. ‘Batsman’ not ‘batter’).

What a great knock by Bairstow and very well played by Overton.

It’s good to see an England sporting side playing in such an exciting fashion.

What a pity Overton didn't get those three extra runs. Great performance though!

Should’ve gone for it last night, sitting in the 90’s overnight for a number 8 isn’t a good plan.
