I could set up several topics on this forum but without fail as soon as I set up a topic one or two posters on this forum will criticise and dispute the information in my post.
    It is very disheartening.
For instance I would be delighted to set up a topic headed ‘Petrol Price Rip Off’. I have first hand knowledge of how the supposed 5p reduction paid for petrol and diesel by the U.K. Treasury can easily not be passed on by petrol stations selling the petrol and diesel to motorists and keep the money for themselves.
I also have information that wheat is being used on an industrial scale in Birmingham, England to produce ethanol to make spirit in gin.
A well known whisky distillery on Islay does this to make their expensive gin.

Go for it Islay. set up the topic and see what happens. Just because you express an opinion it does not mean that there can be no alternative opinions that's what forums are for. Your opinion, even if it is based on fact, may not be the only interpretation of the facts.

If I set up a topic posting facts which cannot be disputed then my fellow posters should accept that otherwise it is a waste of my time setting up topics.

Islay it's called discussion. If you present a fact as irrefutable (there's that word RRoS) then you have to accept anyone's entitlement to challenge it's validity. You also have to be prepared to come back with your sources and further justification. Unfortunately, in the past you've been guilty of stating something as fact based on fairly thin research then closing down and denying point blank any counter argument even when clear evidence that you were wrong is presented.

If we're denied the right to challenge what an individual presents as fact we'd be as well living in Putin's proposed new Soviet Union.

I think putting facts on a forum is a useful way to promote discussion.

It would be interesting to hear (for me at least).
