Think it is wrong of the golf authorities to interfere. Golf fans understand that golfers can make loads of money if they win so I would imagine there is little concern amongst the golfing fraternity.

I think that the Saudi backed golf tour is similar to the Kerry Packer breakaway cricket matches which in the end resulted in a far better deal for professional cricket players throughout the world.
It has been reported that the tv broadcasters are suffering from falling audiences for the golf tournaments televised live on their tv channels which results in difficulty in getting businesses to advertise during their commercial breaks.
It has also been reported that the number of spectators at the D P World (formerly the European Tour) tour events are poor especially in countries where golf is not a popular sport.
In my opinion the R and A made a big mistake when they ‘sold out’ the television rights of the Open Championship to SKY with highlights only being shown each evening on the ‘free to air’ BBC channels.

I don't watch much sport on TV Islay.

I find ( whisper it) golf a tad dull as a spectator sport and TV sport....Ryder cup being a bit of an exception.

But money, multi millionaire for being bang average who wud say no.

But its like very rich men have chance to become even richer.🙄

I picked up a set of golf bats years ago and played on the Cairdy nine holer with them for a bit. Came to the conclusion fairly quickly that golf's for ****s.

Am I really still a still a **** for giving it a go and discovering it wasn't for me because I'm not a ****? Well, not a golfy **** anyway.
