    Oh the irony

Former Birmingham player Davis, 31, played 32 times for League One side Shrewsbury last season.

He began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers and first played for the team in 2011. He spent time on loan at Shrewsbury, Inverness and Chesterfield before joining Birmingham in 2014, going on to make 182 appearances for the Blues before returning to the Shrews in January 2021.

"David is a player who brings lots of experience. He is a midfielder who can command the game physically and is a genuine leader on the pitch," Burchnall added.

All the time Burch was with us he would not bring in a player like Davis.

Well yeah, don't see us pulling in too many league one midfielders...?

I think the bits in bold are more relevant than the league he came from.

Maybe Burch has been released from the shackles of the radar?

    Agree with the above.

Maybe he now has an owner who will not let him fill the squad with young prospects.

Maybe Eli, or maybe, as Jampie sez, it's a step to far to come from League 1 to NL, or maybe it's a ''show us the wad'' thing? Rectum didn't seem to have too much dificulty signing players from higher Leagues.

I wasn't talking about David Davis, I was talking about the type of player he appears to be.

Burchnall has signed him, but he never signed that type for us!

I reckon they were relying on Ed Francis or Jim O’Brian being THAT type of player.

My guess is that Dale Vince simply has different views on the style and philosophy and any business plans for future saleability of players of his club from those of the Reedtz Bros..
