What "decent fee", from who, and what do we get up front? Not sure any of us know anything

Agree, we should allow Barca all the time they need to cough up less than the full asking price, ideally wait till last day of transfer deadline, so we can’t buy anyone with the monies raised.

Think if you give Barca or RM too much time they sometimes drag it out, get in the players head and unsettle them and try and get players cheaper.

Dembele has just resigned on big wages - FFP is seemingly not applied in Catalan cities

You know, sometimes your insatiable desire to rubbish anything I post leads you to make some pretty dumb statements.

Did I suggest waiting until the last day of the window? No, I asked what the "need for speed" was, and so far no-one, you included, has answered that question.

Just as it appears that Citeh was the only game in town for Philips, so it seems that for Raphina, Barca is equally favoured. So no matter what offers are made, from wherever, if personal terms can't be agreed, he won't be going anywhere but Barca. To paraphrase Elvis Costello, he "don't want to go to Chelski". So, spend time cultivating the deal (makes you wonder just how long the deal with Citeh for Philips had actually been on the table!), allow Barca to leverage their £300m+ merchandising contract if that's how they want to raise the finance and they are as keen on the player as he is on the club. And if that means we get £60m on the last day of the window as opposed to £42m now, which would you prefer?

As for having to wait in order to do something with the proceeds of Raphinas sale, did it stop us from signing Aaronsson, Roca etc, BEFORE the Citeh deal was done?

Doing things fast, more often than not, is no guarantee of doing them right.

But you go on making a fool of yourself trying to make "smart" remarks about what I post. No skin off my nose.

He wants away, somebody has met our valuation, what possible benefit to Leeds Utd is there in dragging it out against a transfer deadline, where your options for replacing are diminishing by the minute, but am sure you'll waffle your way to some excuse.

Would rather hang on a bit if it means going to Barcelona, can't bear to see him go to Chelsea, ripping us a good one when we play them.

You seem to have a bigger ego than Boris Johnson WTF - it often comes across that you think post is about you or you try to respond to every thread and every post to make it so.

Sometimes maybe be a bit more democratic and give someone else a go or turn the other cheek.

Often you make some very interesting or good points but often that gets lost in the vitriol that accompanies it or people just don’t want to listen to you as you just shoot everyone else down in flames. People can have a differing viewpoint without it meaning your position isn’t valid.

There is a lot to like about being a Leeds fan at the moment without saying things can’t get better.

We have a manager who speaks well and seems to get the culture even if the jury is out on the tactics

We are still in the PL - this will be the third season

We have had a pretty good transfer window so far with good even if not great money for KP who cost nothing and looking like selling Raph for 3.5!times what we paid for him. The incoming players are young with potential and have strengthened obvious weaknesses.

We look like we are not finished in the transfer market.

The youth set up looks really really strong.

Rumour is a yellow away kit this year (always liked out yellow kits)

I am not saying any of this to be mean but maybe let a few things go and try and be more respectful in posts and you will find that repaid?

We seem to be slowly upgrading the club

    Training ground transformed
New pitch and flood lights and press centre at ER
    Better shop at ER
More commercial activities bringing in revenue

Big plans to finally redevelop the ground which should start next season at some point.

This is the season where finally you could see over half of the promotion team being replaced which is what eventually had to happen.

We almost have two good players on each position.

    All looks pretty rosy

Cannot agree with the "almost have two good players on each position" comment. At left-back we have 0 good players.
