So its becoming clear that perhaps Rooney's reason for resigning as Derby manager was financial? It certainly looks that way if as has been reported he takes the D C United job, especially given Colleen is apparently not that keen on living stateside!

It would seem that CK had promised him something he wasn't going to get under Clowes ownership and thats why he jumped ship, not to recharge his batteries or spend more time with his family!!

So all those lauding him for staying on in his £90K a week job, where whatever happened he wasn't going to get the blame for relegation whilst gaining experience as a manager. Well he is by all accounts going into a similar scenario in the States, so lets see how he does, still I guess his wages will be enough though.
