I think most would have aged tricky if they'd hung around as long as he did, don't mock him for that

I am not mocking him in the slightest.
I think he has made the right decision.
He has aged badly and that is more than likely down to stress and worry.
He needs to switch off fast and diving into family life will do him the world of good.
If it was his Mrs, she made a very good call.

Always look at the genes, Tricky...and the light.
He’ll be back in football before the season begins.
‘Stress and worry’? Not sure there was much of that...expectations were low and the rewards were huge...at least £130k per month I’m told.
More stress and worry for ordinary folk trying to make ends meet these days.

Also rumoured that Rooney’s agent (Paul Stretford?) was guaranteed a place on the board - both at PNE and Derby - if CK had taken over and that’s another reason for Rooney walking as soon as the Kirchner deal fell through. In the meantime QPR’s Richard Reilly named in the DT as a possible partner going forward with Clowes.

Well that's his version and if true, he did the right thing.
DCFC would put him in an early grave at the current rate.
It's not like he needs money is it?

Given the choice, I'd choose family over a heart attack through work any day of the week

According to the Telegraph (Daily not Derby) Paul Stretford (Rooney’s agent) is now being investigated for paying Derby’s wage bill while the Kirchner ‘bid’ was ‘held up’.
Not sure what the implications, if any, are for Derby but it’s probably something we could do without.
As has been suggested previously...Stretford is rumoured to have been due to take a place on the new Derby board under Kirchner...and then it all fell through...before Rooney quit.

There is definitely something funny about this. I'm just gobsmacked that the administrators didn't require the deposit from CK before allowing exchange of contracts to proceed, were they that desperate to accept his bid they failed to apply the most basic measure of "show me the money"?

Isn't it funny how the FA now get involved and conduct an investigation yet do sweet f all to clubs that get promoted by over spending

    Who you talking about Stenson.
Those that have, did get punished?
The difficulty for them was that the Prem was a seperate entity. But get them they did,
Unless you can tell me, one I've missed?

Exactly. Perhaps the implications are more serious for Quantuma than DCFC...certainly hope so.
It seems Mr. Stretford is no stranger to investigation. Perhaps we’ve ‘dodged another bullet’ with him not joining the board.

    My question would be this.
If DCFC had to prove funds for club continuation, with CK being the preferred bidder, would this proof not have to come through him?
If Stretford put the wages up, does that not under mine this?

Not my area I accept, but this is becoming a web of lies and deceit?
The EFL have granted extension after extension and you have to wonder if they ever will again, after this?
