Great player, probably never realised he was the beginning of such a movement as it happened. I wonder how the humility shown by grown men then playing football would be appreciated these days.

Sadly at our age we will see more and more great names go.

Contrary to Fun propaganda, Dundee United didn’t just magically sort of ‘turn up’ in 1979, it was a long time coming and was in no small part thanks to the efforts of the aforementioned that ultimately led to everything that has subsequently followed.

Finn Dossing should absolutely be held in the same breath as all the other legends and his contribution was massive.
Very well said James. And just to add that we were blessed with a superb Board of Directors at that time who set the foundations for the Club to move to the next level. As you rightly point out United didn't somehow arrive in 1979, we got decent home crowds all through the sixties, built our progress carefully and sustainably, had the vision to recruit a brilliant successor to Jerry Kerr and the rest is the history that made us the Club we are today.

    Glasgow Cup(big at that time)
    League Cup

Scottish League division 1(lost only 2 games both to Dundee United)

RIP Finn a club legend who's name will never be forgotten with the iconic Dens Park Massacre song still sung to this day by Arabs young and old.

We also had the very successful Be United join Taypools that made the club a small fortune meanwhile over the road The Funsters tried to emulate that by becoming agents for Glasgow Rangers(RIP) pools.

Your last sentence says it all. I just missed seeing him play by months.but saw him stroll onto the pitch could have been when he was inducted into the hall off fame. His face said it all.RIP. Finn.
