Putin would not have invaded if he were a woman

A bizarre thing for BJ to say-but probably true! Something the better half has argued for years tbh. Though their numbers are very small, there have, of course, been some powerful and forceful women leaders (Inc our own Mrs Thatcher) over time but none I can think of would have perpetrated the actions Putin has. Maybe, as a rule (for clearly there have always been narcissistic and "evil" women as there have been men) women have more compassion than men and are generally less aggressive?

Certainly Putin's actions and the way he portrays himself smack of the "little man" syndrome and "toxic masculinity" Boris talks of-although such old school examples of the differences between the ***es is probably still going to land him in hot water with the woke brigade 🙄😀

Catherine the Great is an interesting figure to say the least! Despite many of the rumours about her (e.g. her ***uality) being malicious exaggerations she did try and bring elements of European "Enlightenment" to Russia even if her own actions, such as her brutal put down of a peasants revolt, were sometimes at odds with this. As you say, she also aggressively expanded Russia's territories -but this was on a par for the times and she acted no differently than most European leaders of the time who set about Empire building.

I think the difference is that -particularly post WW2-most "First World" countries prefer negotiations and diplomacy to war and empire and that, in many ways, is why Putin's actions are so shocking now because they remind us of Hitler and how the world once was and something we hoped we had moved past.

Certainly cannot say that a woman could not act as Putin has, just saying that I think a woman would be less likely too. ***ist stereotyping? Maybe, but as a rule generalizations are only made because there is more than a grain of truth in them.

Johnson is right! The picture of Hitler 2 bare chested on that horse tells the story! Women see the bigger picture and everything is not about violence or aggression. To be honest having worked for a large blue chip company in a senior position - always found women directors far more measured and excellent strategic thinkers than males.

Going back to that horse it’s a pity it didn’t chuck Hitler 2 off and trampled all over his head so he was beheaded!

Queen Boudica had bigger balls than many men of today and massacred more than one or two Romans of the day. Be told.

If Thatcher had acted on all the info months before the Falkland invasion , many lives would have been saved.
