Resurrected from the football graveyard Bury AFC in FA Cup action this evening. Good luck. Be nice to see them do well.
Well The Blues of Long Eaton United put up a fight but in the end Gainsborough Trinity and the MM curse prevailed 4-2 AET. On loan Miller Curtis Durose netted one of Trinity's goals.
So, it's the Holy Blues who move on to the 3rd qualifying round and a date with the Tigers of Worksop Town on October 1st.

Bumping this up before Saturday's encounter. If they play, two of Rotherham's youngsters (Durose and Warne) at Gainsborough come up against a Rotherham old boy in Paul Green at Worksop who at 39 is probably older that that pair put together.
Come on you Holy Blues, show us that the MM curse can be beaten.
A bad day for The Millers, a bad day for our loanee(s) and a bad day for the MM team to follow (what a surprise) as Gainsborough Trinity prove that having a holy connection is no match for 'the curse'. Can't find out anything about the match except that they bow out to Worksop Town with a 1-0 defeat.
Come on you Tigers will be our rallying call for the next round. No doubt all the other teams in the draw for the next round will be hoping to get them.
Having exorcised The Holy Blues of Gainsborough Trinity in the 3rd qualifying round, Worksop Town have to do it all again in round 4 as they are drawn to play The Church, better known as Alvechurch FC. The game will take place at Alvechurch's Lye Meadow on Saturday October 15th.
Playing Chesterfield in the FA Cup tomorrow, thought to be the only village side to ever reach this stage of the competition.
And they have ex Miller, Conrad Logan in goal......up the Nomads !
CAM, Blyth Spartans Vs Wrexham live on US Tv 1pm.
FA Cup Deja vu moment. " At least now we can concentrate on staying in the championship"
It's inevitable really but just to confirm that our boys from Worksop Town FC bowed out today despite a late rally to pull back from 3-0 to 3-2. So it's now Alvechurch FC (The Church) who will be praying that the balls roll kindly for them in the draw for the first round proper. It really doesn't matter how hard they pray, we know what the outcome of their next match will be with almost 100% certainty.
