It always displays a lack of empathy and compassion for those ‘fellow human beings’ you are so concerned about. If it isn’t a bad thing please provide an example of a genuinely Right wing politician who has improved the world because, to name but a few, from Hitler to Trump via McCarthy, Thatcher and Le Pen they all seen both disastrous and divisive to me.

Your reference to 17m I have to assume is to the Brexit vote. I may suggest misguided or misled rather than ‘thick’ but ultimately I’ve always thought it was a stupid decision to reach and one made by a combination of the gullible and those with some sort of vested interest. So, sorry, not so different.

For the second time, I completely agree with your desire for more pragmatic advice. That’s just common sense. Tbh I’m struggling to understand the rest of that paragraph and I really don’t understand your reluctance to support the notion that our population is made aware of what is happening elsewhere. That’s not ‘party political’ either. I’d support the idea of informed comparison whichever Party was in power. We (or at least the PM at the time) were happy enough to repeatedly trumpet our comparative success where vaccines were concerned. Why such reticence where energy caps and the comparative price of domestic fuel are the subject?
You must know some different Edna’s to me. There’s actually a wider point here, that there is an arrogance in the media that the man in the street is as clever as media types are. G7? What’s that?

Also a guitar chord. A G7 guitar chord is basically a G chord with an F note added to it.

Another in the collection of bizarre Faber ‘answers’ or too much Scotch...I’m not sure. I’ll wait for clarification.

Which bit? The post you replied to didn’t mention ‘Edna’. You completely ignored the right wing politician ‘challenge’. What does, ‘There’s actually a wider point here, that there is an arrogance in the media that the man in the street is as clever as media types are’...actually mean?

Jeez this gets a bit draining

'Edna' was an allegory I used first and you responded with, thus appearing to recognise the allegory, later in the discussion. I know from previous tediousness its not beyond your poweres of recall to go back through a conversation and pick up on a comment made there

Ignoring a point well made is also a tactic of yours so please excuse if I did the same. I ignored because your partisan view on right v left will never agree with mine and I've stated mine before, so I didn't think there was a point me repeating. I also think the use of 'right' and 'left' is an anachronism in current times. However, To reiterate, if there is a right and a left, right is right and left is left, and to me they are equally valid. FAR right is far right and FAR left is far left and they are equally repulsive. They do have different specialisms, far right has racism and homophobia amongst others, far left has cancel culture and hatred of earned prosperity amongst others

The media one takes a bit more explaining and I have a deadline, plus I'm trying to master G7 on guitar and my fingers are bleeding, thanks Ramshank!

I do love it, when folks cling to right wing as the devil incarnate. Mention anything right of centre and worst case scenario is thrust in your face.
Of course left wing has never lead to a complete disaster anywhere, has it?
The concept of left wing is based on state being a provider, not just a facilitator and regulator. This concept often draws huge support from general masses, who find it a sort of panacea for their economic woes. But, ultimately, when the state fails in delivering on its promises, the rulers go out on witch hunt.

And for this reason, the left wing rules have usually ended up in dictatorship. In its brief history, the left has continuously produced the mass murderers like - Stalin, Mao, Idi Amin, Gaddafi, Pol Pot, Castro, Kims of North Korea … .. Even the current leftist regime in Venezuela is now quickly turning into a murderous dictatorship.

Even in places where left could not gain full access to power, there also it has acted through terrorist organisations across globe - such as CPI (ML) in India which was once spread in around one-third of the country.

Regarding the worst in Europe, Hitler and Musolini - it must be noted that both were the leftist in their economic policies. And the terror regime unleashed by them, was just in fulfilment of the usual witch-hunt that the leftist regimes resort to as diversion from their failure to meet the economic promises.
Be careful what you wish for, when throwing the remove them all, hat in the ring.
