Peterborough United Fc - Handed A Suspended Three Point Deduction

League One club Peterborough United have been handed a suspended 3 point deduction, for failing
to comply with EFL regulation rules, but the punishment is suspended until the end of 2023.
The club also been fined £50,000 regarding the appointment of Chief Executive David Paton last
January.
EFL official statement read - " The club failed to declare Mr Paton as a relevant person, as per the
requirements of the regulations, & allowed him to act in a role that brought him under the
definition of a ' Relevant Person ', without receiving written authority from the EFL ".
" In addition, the club allowed Mr Paton to act as a relevant person despite him being subject to a
disqualifying condition ".
" David Patton also banned from being a relevant person, for 2 years effective from 19 May 2022 ".
The club & David Paton agreed to the sanctions.
" The club & Mr Paton agreed to pay all associated costs, with the ratification of the respective
agreed decisions ".
Peterborough United responded - " The club regret the oversight that led to their failure, to comply
with rules 2.5.1, 2.6 & 4.4 - the club sincerely apologise to the EFL ".
The club announced - Mr David Paton has left the role of Chief Executive Officer, by mutual consent
effective immediately.

The club have plans for the role of Chief Executive Officer.

I suppose if they weren’t in play off position atm they wouldn’t be suspended, it’s 3 points ffs.
