I'm not overly worried about the forwards once we get Langstaff and Scott fired up, and if Cal and Ruben stay, but the midfield looks very weak indeed.

Two quality signings still required in the centre of the park I reckon, including at least one dominant defensive midfielder. Palmer's fine, O'Brien can still give us something as a squad player, but I don't think Ed Francis has what it takes to impose himself in those games where the going gets tough and we need to stand firm. Like I've said in other threads, I think our chances of improving on last season depend on how we stiffen up that midfield area.

Hopefully, games like this one serve a purpose in focusing attention on what's still required.
