We desperately need to replace Morris and Dike

We have a shed load of strikers.
Fox in the box types - Norwood, Achy and Marsh.
Quick over the grass types - Leya and Cole.

But we haven’t got any strikers that are able to mix things up by either holding the ball up if the ball is hit long - or getting on the end of crosses, even though we are recruiting wing back players with the ability to deliver good crosses.

IMO - our whole season depends on whether we get two strong target strikers into the club.

I think we need two as our most successful period in the last few seasons has been when we have had two, Morris and Dike, at the club.

I’d like to see an older leader type in midfield - but as the squad stands at the moment the priority has got to be replacing Morris and Dike.

I am not sure how you replace a player who was not ours , because if we have not replaced Dike then we also haven"t replaced Harvey Barnes either , you cannot replace something you didn"t have .

When I say we need to replace Morris and Dike - I’m obviously not talking about replacing them with players that have the same current valuation of those two players.

I do realise that we are not in a position to sell a player for £1 Million and then replace that player with someone costing £1 Million.

But we can replace them with similar types.
Worth remembering we paid £300K for Morris.

As for Currie and Cooper - they have been replaced over and over and over again - with many players that have been equal to or better than those two.
That’s not the case with Morris and Dike.

Jeez Louise.
I’m not talking about those individuals per se.
I’m clearly discussing the need to have players in the team with the ability and strength to get hold of the ball and bring others into play.
And of course be strong enough to get on the end of crosses.
We need strength up front.
Do you ever watch 1st Division football eg Rotherham last season ???
