Mich like Jan, we signed Wood to wesken our rival for survival in Burnley. It worked. Wood was a big part of the 10 game unbeaten run despite only contributing 2 goals.
Maddison's transfer strengthens up and weakens a direct rival for the 6th / 7th spot.
£40m plus £8m still owed for Perez also as you guys have been discussing Dubz leaving us as part of the deal takes the full cost of Maddison upto around £55‐58m.

I read somewhere that we were going back in with an improved offer.
However, ssn reported we haven't returned been in contact since the 2nd offer was rejected.
Probably means nothing but could mean that we are now looking else where.
Time will tell but it looks like we won't have a new signing through before Saturday's match.
