    Nooo. Don’t leave me. No spreadsheet but its simpler this season so fewer errors. I’d still welcome the QA though.

    No funding pledge from Frank this season, just good predicting so all’s fine apart from his politics., eh Frank?

    I have already said that when i win you can donate the money to the RSPCA. One of the things about you is that being a solid member of society, and always doing the right thing, i trust you. You even got me back on here, amazing.

    If i dont win, can you trust me to make a donation to the rspca? Or are you going to make me go to the bank? The choice is yours. I am not scamming you. I have money coming out of every orifice, it doesnt matter.

    It would be entirely your decision Frank, so no trust involved.

    Some better scoring this week with 10 correct scores. Top achievers were Southblue and me with 9s so well done to us. Southblue is up 5 places as a result and I’m up 3. This week’s Liz Truss was Claw who only got 1; he’s down 2 spots.

    Two players are pulling out a lead which is skewing the table. It looks like Frank, Pete and Nobby are sitting pretty in fourth but look a bit closer - they’re closer to the bottom than the top.

    Tune in again for next week’s mixed bag!

    I don’t like putting cup games in and won’t do it again this season. This week we managed 16 points from those four games and 45 from those in the National League. Enough said.

    Howoldboy did well again, top-scoring with a welcome 8. Two one-nils sealed the deal, and one-nil is back as the most common score in the league games that I’ve picked. Only just though. Anyway, well done Howoldboy.

    Alf only got 2 and NZBlue didn’t turn up. As a result the antipodean one drops 5 places to 12th. Alf’s still bottom but Claw drops four to join NZBlue. Mullen’s 7 shoves him up four spots to 8th.

    We now have a bloated middle with 11 players separated by 8 points. All to play for.

    2 Blackdogblue…..(3) 78
    3= Griff………..…….(3) 69
    3= Frank…………….(5) 69
    3= Nobby……………(5) 69
    6 Pete…………………(4) 68
    7 Cayambe…………(6) 64
    8= Southblue…….(5) 63
    8= Mullen…………..(7) 63
    10= Crusha….…….(4) 62
    10= Davee….……..(6) 62
    12= NZBlue.…..(dne) 61
    12= Claw….………..(3) 61
    14 Alf…………….…….(2) 53

    A particularly difficult set of fixtures to predict this week.

    Those 2 correct scores also enabled me to catch BDB, Griff and Crush at the top of the correct scores league.

    We all have 9 now.

    Thanks Griff.

    17 weeks gone. Leader has 86 points.

    Average of a smidgen over 5 points a week from 8 selections, with maximum possible score being 16 points a week.

    At face value 5 points a week seems relatively low when compared to last season's winning total of 291 points from 40 weeks, equating to an average of 7.275 points a week.

    However the maximum possible weekly score last season was 24 points.

    So with maximum points each week reduced by a third, this season's equivalent of 7.275 would be 4.85 points.

    On that basis it is beginning to look like an average score of 5 points a week could be enough to win it this season, although, as ever, a lot will depend on the difficulty of the fixtures Griff selects.

    I reckon anyone who finds a strategy that achieves an average of 5 points or more a week throughout the season will crack it.

    Good luck!
