You can say a win is a win and certainly in the circumstances it lifts the spirits.

But against an opponent likely no better than eighth or ninth we were completely outplayed for huge spells. And we should have learned from last season there's only so long you get away with that.

We have a fundamental problem at left-back and despite four (and a bit) centre-backs at the club there does not appear to be any pair there which makes you feel safe.

I'm not going to write-off the whole midfield, I think there might be combination which is functional. But that's entirely dependent on Slattery being fit, available and on form.

The attack is verging on being a debacle. What we have created in 4.5 hours v almost nobody is nothing short of an embarrassment.

Despite this, I don't think we're certain to go down or even be in a real relegation battle by any means given the standard of the rest but we need to have a very, very good next 30 days - in deciding the manager, signing players and playing the likely fodder - if this is not to be an utterly grim season.

Three games without a goal or a real shot on target from open play tells you where half our problems lie, we don’t have a natural goal/ chance taker. Do we take a huge chance and offer someone like Lee Griffths a pay as you play deal, IMO given the right manager and club he could do a job just like Tony Watt did for us. Also think he would be a perfect partner for KVV. Defensively we look a total mess and if it hadn’t been for Kelly on Sunday we would have lost for sure. We totally lack pace at the back and chopping and changing personnel every game won’t help us long term.
