Nichelle has died aged 89.
Grew up watching this prog and must have seen all episodes several times over.
Still watch repeats to this day. Several of the cast have now beamed up, including McCoy, Scotty, Spock & now Uhura.
Phasers on stun get ready to beam up & keep an eye out for those Klingons.
I raise a glass of Romulan ale to Lt. Uhura. RIP Nichelle.

Nardendee, quite ironic that I found myself watching a Star Trek movie last night and when I retired to bed, read off my phone she had passed away.
She was a very attractive lady in her day and she definitely broke the mould for black female actors to be playing high ranking roles on early American TV.
RIP Nichelle.
