Is to appeal her conviction for embezzlement. FFS how many trials/mistrials/retrials/appeals/convictions/quashed convictions/ miscarriages of justice is that? 6? 8? 10? Wonder how much that has cost the state from start to finish with not a chance of anybody seeing a penny of the stolen money repaid.

    People have no shame nowadays.
At the trial her father stated that if he had known that his daughter had misappropriated the money he would have paid it back himself. That would have been another cover up.

I see at her trial McGarty was playing the Mental Health card stating that she has suffered from depression. It did not stop her standing for election as an SNP MP and being the treasurer of two pro independence groups.

Do we think that politicians should be subjected to some kind of mental health analysis? If they have an illness or disability are they automatically accepted for any political party?

Prior to the last Scottish Government elections the SNP insisted that women candidates were selected to stand in certain seats.
That is why there is wummin SNP MSP representing the Argyll and Bute constituency.

If they run true to form they will only use the mental health excuse when it suits them.
It is a convenient cop out to try to get a reduced sentence or just a slap on the wrist.
