    Montrose

Great point for Montrose last weekend against Falkirk so I’m expecting a difficult game tomorrow afternoon.
Queens without the suspended Connelly and the injured McGrory and possibly Todd. Encouraging to hear Reilly , Wilson & Ruth all trained this week. All will be well short of match fitness but I’d be tempted to give both Gav & Shug at least on hour.
Let’s hope the defence have worked on things after last weekends shambolic display.

Interesting the read that Wullie acknowledges that Queens were bullied last week and has been concentrating upon rectifying this during this weeks training. Also a few changes expected so let's see if those weaknesses have been addressed come Saturday evening- I certainly hope so.

Re this point of Queens being 'bullied'. Thats exactly what I have seen in the two games I have been at so far. ONLY when Queens match up to our opponents physically and desire wise , will we be able to get a foothold in games . I believe we generally have better than the average player of League 1 but by letting other teams get in our faces we will struggle to build up any kind of rythmn in the league games. This is something that has to be addressed asap or the word will get about that we are a bit soft and beatable.

You can tell how low the bars set when 0-0 away to Montrose is classed as a good result.

Must have missed the post saying that it was a good result.

I'm tending to look at the bigger picture today . We didn't win BUT the ship was steadied after last week..We were without big players like McGrory and Connolly but at least Wilson and Reilly played part of a competitive game. Things will look far better in a months time as more of the squad competes for a first 11 start. Trust me !!!

At this level and having the advantage of being full time, even with the squad we had out we should be able to field a team capable of over powering Montrose and Clyde. I'd expect Airdrie , Falkirk and Dunfermline to be tougher challengers but not the two we have played.
    Same ****, different league.

I take it that Queens were not bullied and were able to get into their passing rhythm unlike the Clyde match? Did the introduction of Wilson and Reilly have the anticipated effect?
We know that this league is very different from the last time with far superior teams and you only need to look at Falkirk with their vastly superior resources struggling to compete as evidence.
We have a battle on our hands and need to get behind the lads rather than criticise, like some do, at every opportunity.

Gibson had said in his comments during the week ttat we were bullied last Saturday and going by reports we put more empthasis on being more physically competitive yesterday Ian Wilson back will give us a boost in plugging the gaps in the centre of the park. As with everything luck with injuries will play its part in what happens this season. If Queens stay - relatively- injury free then we will be competiting at the right end of the table.
