Coventry signed a contract to play at that stadium and it most definitely is their responsibility to fulfil fixtures there.
All this stuff about Wasps not re-laying the pitch plus concerts and the rugby sevens taking place there are irrelevant because Coventry knew about those well in advance and they chose to do nothing about it.
They are culpable and the EFL needs to take action because presumably the pitch won't miraculously heal itself overnight so there could be further imminent postponements and then what the hell will happen when the bad weather arrives and Wasps start churning the pitch up even more?
Is it too much of a stretch to assume the stadium won't be fit for football this season and Coventry may have to look for yet another temporary home?
Would the EFL accept that without sanctions?

I see an apology in the article below, to Coventry fans but nothing to ours.

They apologize to their fans on their website and we apologize to our fans on ours. If it happened here in the US nobody would say owt due to any impeding lawsuit

Fair point but our club doesn’t have anything to apologise for. So in terms of the legalities of admitting liability, its not really relevant.

Why wasn’t the word of the first referee not good enough and called it off on Friday? (If true)
I changed plans for this game but could reverted back if they hadn’t ****ed about letting us know

Playing catch up already, season just starting,, will Coventry City ask for a rent reduction from the owners of the ground, a midweek fixture will mean less fans in the ground, so lost revenue, to what the club would have received on a weekend fixture

Just been reading a spokesman for the commonwealth games said, they had signed a tenancy agreement from 6 July to 14 August 2022 with the stadiums owners, & that Birmingham City had agreed to allow Coventry City to play games at their ground, until the commonwealth tenancy ran out. So today's game could have been played at Birmingham, & perhaps should have been arranged before the season started.

Coventry are due to play at home again on Wednesday against Bristol City in the league Cup. What baffles me is Mark Robins left it so late to ask for a local ref to inspect the pitch who deemed it too dangerous to play on. They then wait until 6pm the following day for an EFL ref to inspect the pitch. The groundsman should have been working on that pitch constantly not waiting until yesterday morning to try and get it passed fit to play on at 6pm the same day.
Conspiracy theorists would suggest Robins knew 2 of his best players are out and he doesn't have the quality to replace them which is why the pitch inspection was requested in the first place.
