Another day of limited action. In the FA Cup Michael Smith bagged a pair to save the Owls' blushes with a 2-1 win over Mansfield and maybe pay his wages for a while with the possibility of a lucrative 3rd round draw against a big opponent (like RUFC ). A bad half hour for Joltin' Joe Mattock saw him pick up a yellow card and give away a penalty resulting in a 2nd yellow and a goal as Harrogate bowed out 3-1 at Hartlepool.

Down in the National League, Caolin Lavery scored but was still on the end of a 3-1 defeat as S****horpe went down 3-1 at Wealdstone.

Even less to talk about this week. Caolin Lavery continues his one man scoring crusade for S****horpe but again to no avail as they lose 4-1 at home to top team Notts County and are firmly rooted to the bottom of the National League. Doesn't seem that long ago when IBS was predicting that they'd be dumping us out of the L1 playoffs.

It's been a while but resurrecting this now I'm back.

Only player of note that I can see did anything today is Lewis Wing who bagged a pair of goals as Wycombe had an impressive 3-0 win at Peterborough to leapfrog over them and into a playoff spot in League 1.

In Scotland, James Tavernier scored his customary penalty as Rangers fought out a 2-2 draw with Celtic in the old firm derby.

In the Championship, Matt Crooks bagged a pair as 'Boro won 3-1 at Brum in one of 5 away wins out of 6 games with a 3pm kickoff and in the lower echelons of League 1, Smudge scored from the spot a the Owls hammered Cambridge United 5-0.

Didn't know they had New Zealand teams in that.
