A very good effort, but like the original I don't like the last line much. Replace 'Taking County to the football league' with 'Taking Notts back to the football league' and my vocal chords will be tingling.
I've always called us Notts rather than County.

I wish we could think of songs for a fair few players…. It’s been a long time since we serenaded players pre match. I think Stallard was one of the last who would have a song about him before the game and we saw how he performed. It’s a huge lift for the player sung about.
There might be a small element that do the above, but it seems a long time since a decent portion in attendance did it. Just my observations.
