    Shelvey

He's out for the first half of the season i saw. We definitely need another midfielder now (unless Howe trusts Anderson) as Longstaff is now cover for Joe, Bruno and Willock

    Paqueta? Maddison?

Tielemans only has 1 year left on his contract i believe

Yes I think this will see more assertive action from Ashworth and the board as the metrics for fitness and season strategy will have been based in Shelvey's presence in the side.

So they will know that it means more game time, muscle fatigue and stress on the physicality of the players.

We might see both Mads and Paqueta come in if we can't get a CF deal done. Gives Eddie the option to player either as a shadow striker (Mads played that role against Brentford behind Vardy) or a false 9 whilst both are also comfortable playing wide right.

Both quality players who will absolutely improve the first team immediately.

Given Maddison's questionable fitness, is Paqman not the better option? (I don't know his injury record).

I fear for our forward line more than our midfield.

If Wilson pulls up after another pirouette, we wood counting on Would ;-) That's not a place any of us should want to be.

It's a blow, for sure, but our forward line is definitely an area for huge concern given Wilson's injury record. We all know he WILL get injured and Wood is NOT up to the task of replacing him. To be honest, he's not even up to the task of being the second striker. I know what people say about giving us shape, etc, etc, but he doesn't score goals.

Aye, we're an injury to Wilson from having a great/very promising season to a big anti-climax. I don't care what Eddie says about Maxi, Joe, and Murphy playing up front, none of them are clinical strikers that we can rely on, they need to play in their best positions.

Eddie and the owners have barely put a foot wrong so i'll be surprised if we don't sign another striker before Sep 1st

I hope we buy a midfielder to replace Shelvey, but I also hope to see more of Anderson. It would be great to finally have this club bring up academy players again.

Regarding the striker position, Shearer can always step up.

    Shearer?? You on the sauce???

He'd probably still hit more goals than Wood to be fair...
