Just watched the first few minutes of the Magpie Circle episode with him as guest and he said he was given just two days to live three and a half years ago, he was in such a state at the time, it didn't really register with him but let the doctors work their magic and looked very well just a year ago.

R.I.P. Mick Jones - a legend at Notts as a player and as assistant to Warnock. To also (per Les Bradd) be the one identifying Grealish and McCallum as potential loanees for Notts just adds to his legend status. There will be many fans of many other clubs mourning his passing. Thoughts with all his family and friends.

...RIP Mick .. a great servant to football and NCFC. Often underated, remember well a great game away at Leicester City in the FA Cup. Mick was outstanding for Notts on a frost-hardened pitch. We lost 2-0, but the feeling was that on a better pitch we could have taken the game.
Also, fun at Wembley ... we were winning and, near the end, Colin sent Mick to the touchline with two number boards (no electronics in those days), one of which was for Tommy J, who was having a cracking game. When Tommy saw his number he went ballistic and wouldn't come off ... it was all a joke by NW and Mick. Great days.
