    Nothing was supposed to happen with this bid till after Benfica had sorted out the Champions League qualification.

    They qualified last night - which means they now have more money.

    However, their manager refused to confirm Ramos would be staying - German coach Schmidt was asked about Ramos' future and said last night: "This is not just about money. Economic issues are very important, the money we have now is very important and gives another stability."

    When pressed on Ramos' next move, the ex-Bayer Leverkusen boss said: "We have two more weeks before entering the competition and we will see what happens until the end of the transfer window."


    Of course, we have now got an almost concluded deal for Issak we're lead to believe, so maybe we've walked away.

    But maybe not. . .
