I love it when you are being all mysterious mon ami.

It's nowt really mon ami, and certainly nowt that will bother you, any road I need another couple of games observing Sammy, to see if my suspicions are confirmed.

He had a man on him most of the time, but it didn’t look like he tried too hard to get rid of him... and when a team mate came with the ball in his direction he mainly pointed toward a defender... not too keen to get it. Think Vinnie said he was a workhorse, loads of energy and would drive the ball forward. Early days!

Watching him tonight, he is very one-footed, more than McNeil was, and he is also very one-paced! Overall, we are very lightweight, however, rejoice you Clarets fans because it isn't Dyche ball!

I think he takes up clever positions, he's good on the ball but needs an injection of confidence.

He needs a couple of hours with me on our back lawn and he'd be as right as rain.

Bastien is the one I thought would adapt quickest, but he seems to be the one finding it all a bit too much.

I have another concern about him as well, but I'll keep that to myself for the moment, wait until I've seen a bit more of him. Don't want to be too controversial.
Started in our first 4 League games, hasn't started any of the last 6. Seems like it's not just me, Vinni has concerns as well.

When he came on as sub at Wigan, he was really effective and scored as well. We never really know what goes on between the narrative and dynamics of a player and his manager. Something is obviously not right between the two because this lad can play football.

"I did say after the Huddersfield game, that the only player who slightly disappointed me was Bastien, he just wasn't quite at the level I was expecting from him. I didn't see the Luton game, only the highlights, so I can't comment, but I did notice he was hooked at half-time."

I never did get those couple more games, Vinni has obviously spotted what I had, and won't have him in the team.

Cork, Cullen and Brownhill are all fully fit and playing well, it may just be he can't get past these three and VK seems loath to take them off. Westwood when fit will give Bastien another problem to overcome. It's early days yet, let's just wait and see what transpires.

It's obvious Vinni doesn't rate him mon ami, and I'm not being Captain Hindsight either, wise after the event. I said after the first game of the season that I didn't like was I was seeing, and started a thread about it. Hasn't taken long for the manager to share my concerns, and both me and Vinni can't be wrong, can we ?
