The accomplishments of Margaret Thatcher....Page one.

Further to the ill educated comments further down, i would like to list the accomplishments of the dame above.

Number one. The free market economy through privatisation., reducing government intervention and relying on market forces. This was achieved through de regulation, selling off key industries which became successful and profitable.

Greater competition ensued, before they were state monopolies.

This led to LOWER PRICES ,EFFICIENCY, AND QUALITY OF SERVICE.

I expect to get the usual, but there are those who are not barking, who will take note.

The above is true, it cannot be argued with.

This is just number one, others will follow.

VIVA MARGARET THATCHER. A gift from god.

Margaret Thatcher enabled our electricity, gas and water companies to be state owned, owned by the French, Spanish and German states.

Electricity, gas and water are near to the base of Maslov's hierarchy of fundamental needs. Such fundamental needs are best satisfied by companies that are state owned. A rampant right whinger will no doubt call this communism but our lunatic asylums contain the majority of such people.

A proper country must own its own electricity generating, gas generating and water companies. Indeed the UK is the only place which does not own its own water supply.

In enabling this crazy situation whereby our fundamental utilities are owned by the state owned companies of France, Spain and Germany Margaret Thatcher committed an act of gross treason.

For several years after these utility companies were sold off the government was able to impose price controls on bills. This was built into the terms of the sell off. But after that short period the government had no such controls and prices have risen well beyond a reasonable level. During that short period when the prices were almost reasonable this was because such prices were forced on these companies by the government when it had the power. Since then we have been increasingly ripped off.

As for efficiency and quality, well, some water companies do some work on the numerous leaks and some prefer to not spend money on such minor matters, preferring to increase the dividends to shareholders. Some water companies pump less shit into rivers than others.

It seems to be a problem with nationality, or we could call it racism. European companies that run british untilities will have to hand them back if they step out of line, the government is still in charge.

Lets look at some of the benefits. Those companies know how to run untilities, they generate profits for themselves, shareholders, and the british government who just recieve.

The government is relieved of paying exorbitant salaries, pensions, repairs, up keep of all sorts, paper work, strikes, unions, ....and thats just off the top of my head.

Oh, and the corbyn type bonnallacks. All they do is get money. I know how that feels like, im a landlord, and i know you will hate me for it.

LOADS A MONEY...........P.S Money is a good thing, not in socialista land though.

    VIVA LA REVOLUCION.

Frank, you cannot resist mentioning Corbyn, who is of course one back bencher and not a Labour MP. It is as though you regard the very mention of his name as a relevant issue. That is a feeble point, indeed a null point.

"It seems to be a problem with nationality, or we could call it racism. European companies that run british untilities will have to hand them back if they step out of line, the government is still in charge".

There is no other country that has sold off its electricity generating, gas generating and water companies such that they are now owned by foreign governments. As for racism that is utter garbage. Nearly all countries do lots of things which are in the best interests of their citizens, such as having armed forces, having customs officers, owning the companies that supply electricity, gas and water. The UK government has no power whatsoever over these French, German and Spanish government owned companies that now own UK utility companies. This is best known by the fact that French customers of EDF this year got a 4% price increase, whereas UK customers got incredibly extortionate price increases. This is happening for customers of all the UK utility companies that are owned by foreign companies that are state owned. These foreign state owned companies can never be forced to hand them back "if they step out of line". They have already stepped well out of line. The UK government lost all control long ago. Most assuredly the French, German and Spanish governments are in charge. They are taking the piss and pouring it into our rivers. This totally unforgivable situation was totally enabled by Margaret Thatcher's act of treason.

I dont know the ins and outs of it, all i know is that if there is profiteering then the government are still making a mint. And i suspect that any unfair charging is part of the brexit punishment.

    Its all swings and roundabouts.

If we had someone i n charge, they would be having a word in the ear of the french etc. If you dont play fair we wil.....do whatever. The europeans eat more fish than we do.
If we ever get control of our fish back, then we can cut the french spanish or german catch to low levels.

And probably on a number of other things.

The problem with the british is that politically they take it up the a ss. We need a c un t in charge. Which is not english is it.
