I've been politically minded all my life.

I remember paying attention when it was Harold Wilson and Ted Heath

I don't think I remember anything like this carry on though.

It's the people and groups providing the money that has caused this sh*t show of the last few years.
They ensure that donkeys in suits are in charge who dance to the tune of their paymasters and no checks are being done on the gimps coming through the parties who are then fast tracked into safe seats to ensure a quick rise through the ranks and a seat at the top table. This happens in all parties and should be stopped, but I don't think it can now.

I don't think the bar has ever been so low for politics in these Islands.

If I thought Boris and his cronies were clever enough I would be looking for his hand in all of this.

In normal times you might get one of the outsiders being elected (Kemi Badenoch?)but I think once burned and all that will mean that they will pick someone with Government experience that will please "the markets".

On Boris I would imagine they will manipulate the number of MP's support you need to make it through the early rounds to be sure he doesn't make the final two. The party members (nutters to a blue-rinsed (wo)man)would pick him in a heartbeat but the MP's mainly still hate him so they will be busy putting together an election process that as Boris-proof.
