Why is the Tory membership choosing Truss?

Why is the Tory membership choosing Truss? I discern two possible reasons.

Truss is simply a blatant Margaret Thatcher tribute act, in terms of lowering the pitch of her voice, wearing similar clothes to those worn by Thatcher and having a similar attitude to Thatcher.

As for rejecting Sunak, I do not believe that the Tory membership is racist. But I think that the membership may consider the possibility that throughout the UK, in every constituency, 5% of the electorate is racist. Thus in a General Election the results in the 80 most marginal constituencies would likely be significantly affected by racism towards a Sunak leadership.

I agree about the Thatcher tribute act, it’s blatant. We’ll end up with the same trickle-down rubbish with the gaps between have/have not and north/south widening. Sunak has the more responsible approach but the Tory membership don’t want that, they’re all about improving their portfolios and increasing their dividends, or extending their property. Truss is Londoncentric, she doesn’t trust the regions (remember, we’re all lazy) so expect to see investment and per capita spending increase in London, and to do that the regions will have to go without. I expect HS2 to reach Birmingham then get cancelled -though that was always going to happen under the Tories. It’s just even more nailed on now.

As a "supporter" of Boris my reaction to Truss has been to go back to my roots by joining the labour party.

Cayambe, Johnson is a dick head, end of. I prefer Sunak, but it doesnt really matter. Within the tories Truss is seen as a socialist, if she back tracks on her promises, she has to go. We cant have liars anymore.

Sunak is the adult, hes not afraid of telling us how it really is, thats what we need.

Do the tories want someone who will pretend everything is ok?, yes. Truss will get it. Truss will tell the country i will look after you.

Thats the end for her, some thing very bad is coming. If i were the president of the usa, id request a meeting with Putin, he is the architect of this.

Before it, id build up nato forces on the Ukraine border. Id tell him that nato forces will roll into the Ukraine in a week, get out or else. If Putin says that this fight isnt with the west, id say it is now.

I dont give a f who belongs to whos club. Id remind him that our nukes ae pointed at him, and his family will die in the following minutes following a nuke attack on the west.

America has a huge military, it might as well be xmas decoration. Kennedy faced something similar in the 60s.

Ive watched a bit of the euro championships, men are now feminised. As it goes, there is no end to this, and Russia will win by grinding us down economically. Yes they can do it, its better to grasp the nettle now, because it will come anyway. Yes it will.

Truss a socialist????? Sunak would be a better choice but has no chance; whatever if things don't change the Tories aretoast at the next election. BJ is his own worst enemy but I had hoped that he would meet his promises on levelling up etc, but to be honest I don't know now what they mean by the term levelling up. The problem is however the labour party and whether they represent the legitimate aspirations of their natural constituents. In Scotland, a proper labour party should be a shoo in but they have failed over the years to protect or forward the expectations of the people and the same is true for most other places outside the home counties and the inner M25 mob. I will never vote for the lib dems or the greens!!
