    OT - the current crisis

It's almost as if people with large amounts of capital benefit from running the economy into recession every couple of decades so they can buy up assets on the cheap and thereby consolidate ever more wealth into an ever decreasing number of hands....

Spot on with one caveat: the number of hands (of those with obscene/ unnecessary wealth) is IMO increasing

The big question is "why do the rest of us accept this crap"?

I suspect the "big answer" is "what can we do?"

IMO because there aren't enough 'us's' around. Too many people who are clearly 'thems', aspiring to be 'them's', at a level where they side with the 'thems', at a level where they aren't bothered about them and us, not bothered about them and us regardless of level, will side with the thems come what may etc etc. Now for decades the movement has gradually been themwards, maybe the current crisis will tip the scale. Just my crudely elocuted opinion
