    We do indeed need nurses and doctors. We also need refuse collectors, train drivers, posties, oil and gas engineers, ASDA shop assistants - the list goes on. Most of these people are not sitting in snug and secure jobs with decent holidays and pensions more or less guaranteed for life whilst being lauded as heroes for simply doing the job they've chosen to do and under the contractual conditions they've consciously signed up to.

    Of course we do,possibly more opportunities for medical graduates due to the constant need each year than maybe other professions.

    My pals daughter just qualified as a nurse,he was basically paying a 2nd mortgage for her student accommodation while she studied for her degree in Edinburgh.

    It is the same for everyone starting out on their career.
    My brother after e obtained a degree in Law at Edinburgh University commenced his legal career as a trainee solicitor in a large Edinburgh solicitors firm earning a pittance.
