    Just to repeat, ram, i.e. larger city equals larger number of fans. It's also worth noting that geographically, SW only have SU as their rivals. In contrast, Barnsley have Leeds, SW, SU, Huddersfield, Bradford City, less than 30 minutes drive away.
    No contest.

    so if georgraphically SW only have SU as a rival, how come Barnsley have SW as a rival but not vica versa?

    The point is Barnsley are surrounded by a nearby cluster of clubs whereas others are not.
