    Back to the good old '70s, it seems. In the days of the three-day week (Heath vs miners and all that), I remember that a cup tie vs Ayr Utd was played early afternoon to save power, and Dalziel High (good old JK Scobbie) allowed the school to close early so that we could go and watch the game at Fir Park. I seem to remember that 'Well won the match (2-1???) and there was a decent crowd!
