    Pointless competition, ex players you've seen

    I'm sure most of have seen the show so will know how this thread is going to work
    .
    You know the ones , when players back in
    the day came here on loan for a month and played a couple of games for us .

    Or came through the juniors and only had a game or two before getting released .

    It could be anyone you want but the more pointless the player the better .

    Ian Butler , came on loan from Hull City in November 1975 .

    Paul Turner , a young full back if memory serves me right who came through the juniors , 1974 maybe .

    Steve Shutt, came through the age groups but was released early into his professional career. His lad is playing for Yorkshire CCC.

    Came across him some years later though work, nice kid.

    His twenty minutes at home to Huddersfield in Nov 2012 before getting sent off were priceless.

    I think the club still has his warm up bike.

    Ian Hendon, an awful loan player from L.Orient in 92-93, near the end of Mel Machin's time with us.
    And the Dutch duo Laurens Ten Heuvel & Carel Van De Velden, who Danny Wilson weirdly signed in 95-96. 😮
