    OT/The Queen

Now I'm very much NOT in favour of the monarchy...but...the Queen has, I think, served the country very well despite what you may think about her privileged life and I was surprised at how sad I felt when I heard the news.

    End of an era.

    Aye. RIP your majesty.

Can't really believe it myself - as you said, complete end of an era.

God Save The King - feels very weird.

Agreed with both of the above posts and I think the Queen will be the last monarch to benefit from such respect.
    RIP

Charles will be the fifth monarch to hold the throne in my lifetime.

    Been confirmed for Friday.

I would think that they will be on sat as well.

Monarchy is a living museum, harmless relic with no power or authority. A tourist attraction.

No-one can possibly feel threatened by it and the Queen conducted herself impeccably throughout she'll be missed. RIP.

Her comment to the US President after 9/11:

“Grief is the price you pay for love.”

I was paying my respects at the Menin Gate Last Post in Ypres last night. At the end of the ceremony the crowd burst into “God Save The King”. I don’t know her highness had passed away

She seemed quite nice, but her sister was a party on legs! RIP to them both.
