Watched the Pilot programme. Really very non PC and an perfect example of how times and attitudes have changed. Seems to me the whole thrust of the humour was directed against white racism and for a multi racial society. Somehow that message has been been lost and instead of poking fun and ridiculing the attitudes towards Italians French and Germans held by some white people I am sure a modern day audience would not see anything remotely funny in this programme. I am not sure that things are better now.

Love Thy Neighbour and Alf Garnett were all about poking fun at silly white people although most people never got it.

Jim Davidson and Bernard Manning were castigated whilst Harry Enfield was lauded for the same thing.

Exactly. They were the anti racist movement of the time. The intention was to ridicule these stupod values held by white people not encourage them.

In my opinion the PC mob are spoiling things for everyone else.
Hopefully the silent majority will eventually rise up and tell the PC mob to go ‘take a hike’.

PC mob have been around forever, they now focus on tv and pop culture. Previously the focus was on the bible and trying to edit out the bad things their god did

On a similar note, the Rolling Stones, for 'PC' reasons, have stopped playing Brown Sugar in concerts, which is arguably their best live track and extremely well received by heavily paying audiences. Maybe I am a dinosaur but it's just a song FFS.

Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in the market down in New Orleans
Skydog slaver know he's doin' all right
Hear him whip the women, just around midnight

Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good?
Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should, oh no

Drums beatin' cold, English blood runs hot
Lady of the house wonderin' when it's gonna stop
House boy knows that he's doin' all right
You should have heard him, just around midnight

Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good?
Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should, yeah

Brown Sugar, how come you dance so good?
    Oh, got me quittin'
Brown Sugar, just like a black girl should, yeah

Now, I bet your mama was a tent show queen
And all her boyfriends were sweet 16
I'm no school boy but I know what I like
You should have heard them, just around midnight

Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good? Oh, no no
Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should

I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, woo
How come you, how come you dance so good?
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, woo
Just like a, just like a black girl should
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, woo
